Marci is a very special young man. Although due to his illness it is not easy for him to keep up with his classmates in school, he still managed to achieve 82 per cent on his high school entry exam. That was almost double of the average score!
Fantastic! So we weren't surprised at all when he gave us a detailed description of the laptop he wanted. He wished for a laptop so he can surf the Internet and and learn more about the things he is interested in.
We had bought a special SW for for the brand new laptop too, and we had some trouble installing it .. so this wish granting did not go smoothly.
Luckily the managing director and her colleague were present, and quickly phoned for help. Soon the problem was solved and the laptop finally started up.
From that point Marci took over and soon the machine came alive. Magic happened once again, and the world suddenly opened up as he was finally surfing the net.
We would like to thank the Váci utcai Bevásárlónegyed Nonprofit Kft. for for organizing a fundraising campaign to collect the money for the laptop. We would also like extend our gratitude to Michael Carroll, managing director of the Váci utcai Bevásárlónegyed Nonprofit KFT and Viktória Figuly for their presence at the wish granting.

Máté is a sure footed „young man”, who is planning his future. In order to work out his plan he wanted to get a specific camera from the Magic Lamp. He would like to make fantastic photos about the nature.
We could fulfil his wish from the help of one of our givers. It can be seen in the photos how happy Máté was when he opened the parcel, in which his present was. We wish you dear Máté to make beautiful pictures with your new camera.

Georgina wishes for an electric piano from the Magic Lamp. Gina has been studying music for a while, but now she would like to take her studies more seriously and learn to play the piano.
Gina and her little sister had been waiting for us with a great excitement. When we arrived with the huge box, they happily danced around us, then enthusiastically helped to unpack the piano. After the piano was put to its place in Gina room and plugged in, she sat down quickly to try it out.
After that the two girls entertained us with an impromptu concert of their favourite songs.
We wish Georgina to find great enjoyment in her new piano.

Barbara wished for a professional camera from Csodalámpa. Although she wants to be a dentist, she also loves taking pictures and would like to become a nature photographer. Barbi had been eagerly waiting for her camera. We wanted to surprise her and we showed up unexpectedly in the Tűzoltó utca hospital but of course we could not fool Barbara. She knew right away why we had come. Her eyes lit up that her dream finally had come through.
She excitedly opened the box, turned on the machine right away, and soon the first pictures were taken. We wish Barbi lots of success with her future endeavor as a photographer, and hope that in a few year we can see her photos at an exhibition.

Bence wished to get a laptop, and thanks to the help of our supporters his wish could be fulfilled just before Christmas.
Bence has a dialysis treatment twice a week at the SE 1. Pediatric Clinic in Bókay Street. We love surprises… so we thought that during the few hours long treatment Bence’s joy would be even greater.
Bence was very happy when he saw the laptop. He didn’t expect to get such a large screen and in all respect a gorgeous model.
Earlier Bence and we were talking a lot about his wish. First he wanted a drum kit but later on he thought that a laptop would be more useful because of his illness.
Warm wishes for a speedy recovery and we hope that the brand new laptop will bring you lots of joy and happiness.

Abris heard from his treating doctor about a magic lamp that exists not only in fairy tales: if he really wished something, it could became real without even rubbing the lamp.
Just a few days before Christmas, the old tale became reality for Ábris...
The pictures tell more than any word could about that happy evening.
Many thanks to those kind people, who made it possible for Ábris to live a real miracle.
And thanks to Magic Lamp, that I could be there and see Ábris' smile.

Zsófi travelled all the way from Kalocsa to Nagykovácsi so that the students of the American International School of Budapest could grant her wish that she had asked Csodalámpa Alapítvány for.
On the stage stood a friendly young lady (Zsófi) who had asked for a laptop as she was in a special IT class and could perform the tasks better on a laptop. Furthermore, keeping in touch with her friens and having fun is much more simple with it.
The students greeted her warmly in the cafeteria and guided her round the school. They showed her the theater hall last, where they presented her with her gift as part of a short show.
Zsófi and her dad very much liked the school and were really satisfied with the organisation of the event. They would like to thank all students, teachers and our staff for granting her wish this way.

The biggest dream of the 14 years old soma was a real, ACER Aspire laptop. Soma had been wantig this machine for quiet a long tome, since it would ease his studies and would also help him to keep in touch with his friends and school.
When he got an invitation from the students of the American International School of Budapest to their meeting on the 20th of November 2013., he didn`t suspect what was the real reason of the invitation.
He tought that the students only wanted to meet him to get to know him, and to find out why he`d wished for a laptop.
Soma is a very nice, interested and open-minded guy. His self-consciousness at the begining was soon gone, when he saw the tons of smiling faces. Mr. Marc Lavoie and the representatives of the students council warmly welcomed him, and he watched the entire ceremony from the stage.
/ 3
The highlight of the get-together was the couple of minutes, when in the name of older students three of them handed over the magnificent laptop, and as the students watched Soma`s joyful smile, they all stood up whit their hands forming a heart, as an expression of their love. After the ceremony we were given delicious meal and pastries, and then Soma immediately started to operate the machine. He could hardly be seperated from it.
We hope that the laptop will provide you many joyful hours!

Benjamin's wish was an X-box, which was given by the students of the American International School of Budapest. It could be realized by the annual Wish the Walk event. Three students of the school had the privilage to meet Benjamin.
He was surprised but very glad to see that so many people came. During the conversation, children put the X-Box together and they also configured it, so Benjamin could test it in the evening. A short documentary film about the handover was shot by the kids.
We hope that this meeting will remain an everlasting experience for Benjamin as well as for the students.

Our meeting with the 7-year old Sanyika wasn’t so easy at the beginning. He was too excited to attend to us. The reason of it could be our unexpected visit. Suddenly many people bustled around him so his peaceful world was disturbed. His mother helped us to choose the gift as she exactly knew that her only child would need the right furniture matching his age. The new cupboard will make studying as well as playing much easier.
We were sorry that due to Sanyika’s shyness we couldn’t see the happy moment when he took possession of the new furniture but we are sure that he needs it very much and we hope that he will find a lot of joy in it.

Little Renáta really likes cycling. She told us that she usually makes real tours to her grandmothers, along with her parents and sibling, but she is the only one in the family who rides a tricycle - always somewhere in the middle of the group.
She tought that as a mature kindergartner lady, she could manage to ride with only two wheels, and with that she could pedal faster, she could even reach the „leader“ position in the family. Therefore Reni asked for a real girly Hello Kitti bicycle from the djinn - of course fully equipped a bell and a basket.
The Genie found out Reni`s secret dream quite soon, since he knows the ladys very well, and knows where to look for these "aerodynamic" elegant magic bikes... and without let or hindrance, he fastly swerved with it into the hospital of Tűzoltó utca.
By the time we got to the hospital along with our supporter... Zita, the pink miracle was already there, waiting for its owner in all it`s glory in one of the hospital room`s hidden corner. Reni was playing with some important toy when we got there, but when she saw us we knew that she would soon climb into the saddle. When we started to talk about Csodalámpa, and her secret wish from the Genie, she slowly put down the toys, and the sparkling in her big eyes uncovered, that she was suspecting something. We took her little hand and showed her the way to the corner, where Hello Kitty smiled back at her with both of it’s wheels, the bell, the basket and in addition with a touring backpack, for snack and everyday treasures.
We only had to mount the pedals; Zita was the one who helped the excited little kid in this. After her dream was standing there in all it’s glory, Reni soon hopped on the bike, and tried the bell, to let everyone know that they needed to get out of the fast-moving vehicle’s way.
Then Reni suddenly got off the bike, ran to her bed and apologetically hugged her beloved puppy, took her to "Kitty", sat her into the basket, tenderly fondled her, organized her little tail, and simply said: I’m not going anywhere without Füles!
Then she sat back on the bike, straightened up, smiled happily, and in her imagination she was already heading towards her grandma's place, and ringing the bell when she got there, to let her know, that she has arrived - with no other than a cycle and of course her puppy, Füles.
Reni we are wishing You with all our hearts good health and many-many kilometers of cycling with this beautiful pink miracle.

Niki is a real lady, you could’nt have kept a secret from her, especially since she was inveted to the American International School of Budapest in Nagykovácsi along with her mother for a little celebration. The "milady" soon realized the trick, why she had to go there. Of course, the students grant her wish!
The older students of the school collected donations for Niki and two other girls, in September during the charity event called "Walk the wish", and now the time has finally come, for the surprise to get to it’s rightful owner.
We sat down together into the huge theater of the school with joy, where lots and lots of children waited excitedly for the ceremonial handover.
They all learned a few things about Niki. She was given lots of questions, she answered them, but then came the real question: what is it that Niki really wants...
After one long minute of silence, we could hear the answer: she would like to have a white iPad mini!
The white iPad was soon in Niki’s hands, who could not wait to unwrap it and finally get acquainted with it.
We wish you a lot of happy hours with your little computer!

Regina is a 16-year-old girl who is studying Information Technology and likes technical things. She asked for a tablet from our Foundation and was waiting patiently for the fullfilment of her wish.
One Tuesday we managed to surprise her. Everything was organized but Regina didn’t have an idea of the present.
We surprised Regina in her hospital room, but when she saw the package, she knew that joyful moments would be waiting for her.
She immediately unpacked the box and could see the beautiful, white tablet. Nurses told us that Regina was dealing with nothing else just the new tablet that night and the next morning.

The first time Csabi heard about the Santa Claus Village from her mother, Eszter.
He still remembers the day when Eszter was talking about the city of Rovaniemi where Santa Claus lives and meets children. Csabi also got information about the Santa television, so he has followed the activities of the Santa Claus day by day for several years.
His wish was evident: he wanted to talk to Santa Claus as long as possible.
Our departure time has been kept secret for quite some time, so Csaba got to know only on Thursday that we would fly the nex day. Then the Finnair employees’ strike was annunced, so we were really frightened how to get to Rovaniemi on time. Fortunately Santa Claus has fantastic helpers, for example the staff of the Finnish Embassy in Budapest and the Finn-Hungarian Association, so with the help of Santa they solved the problem and despite of the strike we could leave on Friday.
We would have liked if Csabi had been rested before the journey, so thanks to the management of the Art’Otel, he and his family could spend a night in this beautiful hotel.
The flight took all day with two interchanges and Csabi became seemingly very tired, but in the evening seeing the lights of the small town, the lights of the airport, the reindeer sculptures and the fabulous baggage claim hall, all his troubles disappeared and he could hardly wait for the Saturday's meeting.
We started the day with the „Santa Claus parade”, but of course there we got just a taste of the miracle that all children long for.
The parade was followed by a dog sledging, where eight playful huskies were happy to pull the sledge of Csaba. After that we drove to the Santa Claus Village where Elves were eagerly waiting for us. Santa's house is like a fairy tale, lots of stairs take you upstairs, there is huge pendulum clock showing the passing time, fire is crackling in Santa's room ... In one of the corners there is a huge box full of many, many letters sent by the children from all over the world. In another corner there are lots of gifts and books and of course Santa's favourite armchair stands in the center of the room.
Suddenly we did not know where to look, what to do, but the initial embarrassment was broken by the kind smile and voice of Santa in a moment. Then Csabi was sitting on his knees and they were talking to each other for a long time. Csaba had a lot of questions: How old is Santa Claus? What does he do all day? How are the toys made? ... Santa asked what Csaba would do if he grows up, and the surprising answer was that he wanted to be a Santa Claus, too. Santa answered that it would be quite difficult because he didn’t want to give up his job in the near future, although it is true that he is more than 400 years old, but that won’t be a problem.
However he asked Csabi to be one of his little helpers, because he had a lot of things to do. They agreed on it, and sealed the deal with a special badge.
/ 11
Then Csabi gave his gifts to Santa Claus. He made a fantastic penguin of plastic bottles. He thought it would be a nice surprise as penguins do not live in the Arctic. He also took lots of drawings and of course a wish list with him. Santa gave him a plush Rudolf – his favourite reindeer - as a gift and he also gave Csabi his own pen which is given only to the best of his friends. With a short photo session finished our our "fairytale" visit.
On Sunday our dear Finnish friends surprised us with a visit to the zoo and the main attraction of the day was visiting and walking around in the reindeer farm. Csabi fed his little friends with lichen, then he listened to the story about the four winds, told by a real Shaman of Lappland.
We had a wonderful time at the Santa Claus Village and we hope that this extraordinary journey will help Csabi to recover very quickly.

Anita and Bence, two nice and kind kids from different parts of Hungary had the same wishes: they wanted to visit London. And on a nice autumn day their wishes came true.
Their experience began with the flight because it was the first time that they had gone by air.
Above London the pilot announced that we had to wait 15 minutes for landing because of the heavy traffic of the airport. During this time, the plane was slowly circling over the sunny city, so we could see all sights from bird's eye view.
By the time we arrived to the hotel it became dark, so we took a taxi and went to Piccadilly Circus to see the illuminated city and enjoy the bustle of the night.
Next day we had a sightseeing tour by double decker. We got off at the Buckingham Palace and watched the changing of the guards. Our next program was the London Eye. Fortunatelly it was a lovely sunny day and we could enjoy the panoramic view of London. Children, as well as the adults were also impressed by the 4D movie about the city. We planned many other interesting programs for that day, so after lunch we had a short boat trip on the River Thames, we saw the historic buildings of the Tower, then we were walking through the famous Tower Bridge. It took quite a long time, because the kids stopped every minute to take photos. They were impressed by the awe-inspiring sight. And moreover, another interesting program came: we went to discover the Belfast Warship which is now a museum. As we left the museum, evening fell, the lights went up and we were amazed by watching the illuminated city, including the Tower Bridge, which - probably in our honour – was lifted. The cameras were often clicked again. And the kids still did not get tired, they asked us to go back to the hotel on foot in order to enjoy the cavalcade of the London’s night.
Next morning we began the day with a stadium tour. Visiting the Chelsea Stadium was a special request of Bence. Then we went by underground and double decker to get to the long-awaited Madame Tussauds Museum. Certainly the kids enjoyed it very much. Then a short shopping tour was organized in Oxford Street for the shake of Anita. The day - and also our journey – was finished by a fine dinner in a typical English restaurant.
I am sure Anita and Bence enjoyed themselves and they are going to talk about their experience for a long time.
