Reports
On the 14th of March, 2010, Tomi’s and Lóránt’s dream has become true: they could watch a Manchester United Premiership match at Old Trafford Stadium. They have wished that from Csodalampa a year ago and they have been extremely excited about the trip since then. The long wait finally paid off; both of them returned with an amazing, life lasting experience from Manchester.
Tomi and Lóránt were accompanied by their fathers, big football fans too, so we set off to England with United shirts and of course Hungarian flags too. After the long journey we arrived to the heart of Manchester and admired the four-star, elegant Marriott Hotel and got some rest to prepare for our fantastic weekend. We would like to thank Dr. Tamás Barabás for waiting at the airport and driving us to the hotel and to everywhere the boys wanted to go.
The next day after having a plentiful breakfast at the cold buffet we went to see the Manchester United museum and the „Theatre of Dreams”, the Old Trafford. After admiring the lots of trophies and medals the football team won we were escorted by an own guide at one of the world’s most beautiful and enormous stadiums. It was a unique experience; we were able to get into the players dressing room and to take some photos in there, and everybody sat into the living legends’, Sir Alex Ferguson’s seat at the bench.
At the end of the stadium tour the boys bought a lot of United relics at the Megastore, starting from the flags and scarves to pens. After having dinner we got up onto the Manchester Wheel from which a wonderful scene unfolded before us. We finished the day with a little wandering around the city centre and went to have some sleep to be fit on the next day, the day of the match between Manchester United and Fulham. The following day was the day when Tomi’s and Lóránt’s dream became reality!
Lots of people was walking on the streets in MU scarves and shirts even in the morning and we could feel how important and traditional the football really is in England and in Manchester.
From little kids to old people everyone seemed to be so excited about afternoon’s game. We sat in our seats in the first row near to a corner-flag (thanks for this perfect place very much!). We could almost touch the training players at the sideline. We could feel the atmosphere of the stadium, joined to the United songs and chants to support the team and celebrated the goals with the fans. I assume that is an experience we will never forget! As the match ended (Manchester United won it of course) the boys had the chance to meet, to have some talk and to take some photographs with Zoltan Gera, a Hungarian player of Fulham’s team. It was an amazing experience to talk with one of the best Hungarian footballers at the moment who was very kind to Tomi and Lóránt.
This fantastic and memorable trip to Manchester finally ended with a little walk in the town and some shopping at the near Trafford Centre.
Lóránt’s and Tomi’s biggest dream has become reality and these days will be a life-lasting, fantastic memory for them!
To organize this wish-fulfillment we needed a lot of help:
We would like to thank the Robert Burns Foundation and Mr. Zoltán Magyar for providing the match tickets for the complex museum and stadium tour and for giving us the chance to have a meeting with Zoltán Gera.
We would like to thank Mr. Phil Down / Manchester United Disabled Supporters Assoc/ for providing us disabled seats for Tomi and his company, his father.
Finally we would like to thank the Marriott Resorts for providing us a perfect accommodation.

Lilike is a sweet, active little girl who like riding a bike. Her wish was a scooter!
By conspirating with her mum we arrived as a surprise with the magic machine into the Tűzoltó Street Clinic. Lili welcomed the present in a shy way, constantly hugging her mum.
There were some other children who ringed the bell…. Of course Lilike became interested as well. After we left we found out that Lili was staring her new scooter with happiness, all her shyness was gone as it is seen on the picture.
We wish all the happiness when using the new scooter.

We successfully conspirated with Viki’s mother because she had no idea that she receives a present from Wonderlamp!
However, when Anikó arrived, the transplantation coordinator, there was not anything to hide from Viki she knew why we wanted to meet her at the Transplantation Clinic. We quickly got out the deeply hidden present, Viki’s wish, a Wii game.
The young lady immediately opened the box, and could recognize all the parts of the game like a professional. We found out that the father is hurrying from his workplace to set up the newly received machine.
We wish all the happily spent moments, playing with this game for the family!

We visited Szilveszter in his home on a cold, snowy Sunday night, in the village of Szőke not far from Pécs. We rang his grandmother for help to find out which is the safest road to take, to avoid the new-fallen snow.
He was really surprised to see us. He didn’t think we would go in the big snow, and he would get the Play Station 2 which he so fondly required. Besides the machine we also took a joystick because this was part of his wish as well.
He unrappened the presents happily. He was glad for every item and also for the game he got with the Play Station. He told us the reason why he asked for this was because one of his cousins has one as well and they usually play together. After this they don’t have to take the appliance to one another, and they can also switch games.
We hope you have an unforgettable time playing on the PS 2, which helps you forget your illness.

We arrived on a shiny day to Tatabánya with our supporters to Kira. The little girl’s wish was a nice plastic slide with a small house in which she could play in the garden. She usually play in this in the Hospital in Tűzoltó utca.
At our arrival we were a big surprise fro Kira as she had no idea about why we went to their house, her mum kept in secret. When we opened the huge box Kira was even more surprised.
Until that moment she hardly talked to us but when she glanced what is inside the box she was almost shocked by the happiness. Even when we started building the slide she was a big help for us. When it was completely ready in her happiness she could not decide through which window she should get in and out. Her favourite toys and a chair were placed inside.
Thank you for representatives of Vodafone specifically two young men who helped with the building of the garden slide.
It was an extraordinary experience to see the happiness of a little girl.

Dalma is a 5 year old little girl who has already spent 6 months in the Hospital in Miskolc in which she was always dreaming of a barbie house with the facilities inside and dolls of course.
A kind lady called Tuboly Brigitta read her wish on the internet and immediately bought the present for Dalma. Because she is in Heim Pál Hospital now her wish was fulfilled there. Her immune system is very weak, therefore we had to wear a mouth cover and could only stay for a short time.
Firstly, I told her that her wish from Wonderlamp is fulfilled by a magic fairy that will arrive in any second. Happiness was all around when she and her mum opened the box and inside there was a Barbie Villa with facilities and dolls. The lady even bought a teddy bear with the Dalma logo on and promised to bring further furniture for the barbie house in the future. It was a pleasure to see Dalma’s grateful face that this present will be her little empire.
We said goody bye because the nurse came in but at least her future happiness is guaranteed by the doll house.

János is a 14 year old young boy from Sárbogárd and we met him at First Children Clinic, he just finished his dialysis at my arrival. His mother told me that he has to repeat this procedure in every four hour in consideration with the sleeping time. For this reason János is a self-thought student.
Because of his illness and symptoms he cannot get physical hardness: he cannot do any sport activity, he cannot go to any community which means he could not have any close friends yet.
He asked for an X-box game with which time passed quicker.
I gave you the present with the hope you recover quicker after the operation and I wish in the future next to all the exciting activities you will not have time to play with X-box.
Until that I wish the best time and good luck for the operation!

Ivó is treated in GYEK. He likes riding a bike, but he never had his own bike.
It was a surprise for him when I entered with a grey bike. The small children surrounded me in a circle except fro Ivó who watched the happenings from his bed.
When he actually realized that the beautiful bike is for him, he could not say anything due to the happiness. He just stared the ground and his eyes were covered by tears.
Dear Ivó!
We wish you to be finally recovered until spring arrive and then you can enjoy your new, extraordinary bicycle.

Laci is restricted in his movement which is caused by his disease, so his biggest dream came true with rubbing the wonderful lamp. He got a laptop that brings the world close to him. This lovely surprise was transported to Kőrösladány to their home with one of our supporting company's help.
We would like to thank the help of DIGI PIG Kft because we had very bad weather at that time and Christmas was just knocking at the door, so that's why it was so important for us to give this present to this little boy in time.
Laci said as the package had arrived in their flat he suddenly started to shout: "Can I have the laptop? Can I have the laptop?”. He was really happy. Since then he's been holding the laptop in his hands.
We met him in the school yesterday when we were taking some photos of him. He ran to us with a big smile on his face and happily showed his miracle, his laptop.
Now the world is expanded for him.

Sadly all the three children in the family are ill, so we were trying to organize an unforgettable Christmas and fulfill their three wishes at one go on 21st December. Our plans however fell through due to the poor weather conditions.
Our meeting was set in a farm close to Vác given that Anna’s big dream was to ride a horse.
Unfortunately the family could not travel to Vác in the snow, therefore the founders and Csodalampa’s voluntary workers were greeted in the family’s home.
The little girl received a horse riding voucher valid for 10 occasions; the staff at the horse farm is looking forward to having her there.
Sándor and Balázs were longing for something more for the boys, such as a kid’s electric car. One for each of them of course, hence a grey and a red one were handed over to them.
As the cars had already been assembled and charged, the boys could immediately tested them. They were shining in happiness and agreed that they would lend the cars to each other from time to time, like good brothers.

When we entered the hospital and brought the present we were very excited if the surprise was successful! Gábor did not know anything that he will get his wish, an X-box.
Unfortunately, we could not make him very happy as his state was unbalanced. We could not even get into his room, only in full cover clothing.
But Gábor promised that at the moment he feels better he will put the machine together.
I hope this will occur soon because as he said he was very happy about the present and waited a long time to receive it.
I wish Gábor all the best time with the newly gained X-box and also a quick recover.

Viki’s wish was a bed, a rattan arm chair and a pink blanket.
Viki spent last week in hospital so her mother and I had decided that we’d only give her the so longed presents following her treatment. Indeed we managed to surprise Viki greatly; she had no idea of our arrival.
The first thing she immediately tried was the ‘pussy cat’ armchair as she’s later named it. Viki laid in it covering herself comfortably with the pink blanket just like a little cat. Obviously she also tried the bed to see how cozy it was for sleeping.
Dear Viki we are wishing you good health and happy moments in your new ‘pussy cat’ armchair and bed.

Szabolcs wished a Playstation 2.
This dream shortly came true with the help of a nice married couple: Barbara Nagy Lendvainé & Zoltán Lendvay, and Wonderlamp Foundation.
Szabolcs took the gift with deep emotion while he always looked for his Father’s visage. During the photography he has a light smile, but he held the real glad to home.
We hope he always have a happy smile and abandoned play!

Oliver wished a Lego Bionicle.
His wish was fulfilled by Balázs Ballon, an individual donor. Balázs brought the games to the Clinic, but Oliver could get them when he came to a therapy. His mother asked to give Oliver the games when the hypodermic needle was already in his arm.
So the 4 package games helped Oliver to forget the pain of needle and therapy.

Martin lives in Szeged and he’d have liked to take part in an excursion. They had been before in this hotel so that’s why it’s Kolping Hotel they choose.
They arrived at the hotel on Sunday and after a short rest they left for the pools in summer warm. Martin felt very good so it was very hard to take pictures of him because he always wanted to slip down on the slide.
Finally, we managed to take a photo about him even with the representative of „Boboland” – Bobo and his sister Dorka.
Hopefully, even the continuation succeeded wonderfully and they’ll remember these 3 days for a long time.

Dani’s sparkly eyes and happy smile immediately enchanted me. As soon as he arrived at the airport with his mum he claimed to have seen real planes in his life which apparently had flown unbelievably high. When I suggested that perhaps we could take a look at some planes and go on a sightseeing tour - provided that we’d find a super plane with an even more super pilot - all he said was: ‘I’m ready. Let’s fly!’
Uncle Gabi had already been waiting for us in front of the hangar with a shining clean, super helicopter which was ready for making Dani’s dream come true. Firstly, we of course had to admire all the planes in the hangar and, to my greatest surprise, Dani proved to be a real expert in naming some of the plane types. Finally we agreed that a red helicopter would best match with the red child seat of our new co-pilot. We didn’t hesitate for a moment and took off straight. It was a beautifully sunny day and the view was stunning. Obviously our little co-pilot was promoted to captain by the end of the trip as he was quickly able to imitate uncle Gabi’s moves and Dani shortly became an expert in flying. He even helped us landing by giving directions.
After our landing I asked him if he had liked flying to which I got back an excited but short ‘YESSS!!’ as a reply. Dani then turned to his mum and whispered something in her ear. We only got to learn what that might have been when he gave a big kiss on Uncle Gabi’s cheeks and asked about his next availability for flying. Oh well… what else could he have asked being overly excited about flying and totally touched by Uncle Gabi’s kindness and professionalism.
I knew that Dani not only liked flying but also appreciated rather ‘earthy possessions’ such as Kinder Surprise eggs, so on behalf of ’Csodalapma’ I gave him some chocolate eggs to the brave little pilot. He immediately opened one of them to distress after such excitement.
My Dear Dani, we wish that you’ll always remember this wonderful day and when you hear a plane passing by please think of Uncle Gabor Kovats and the ‘Csodalampa’ Foundation how happy they all were to be able to make your dream come true.
Special thanks to Mr. Gabor Kovats, the owner of Skylux Ltd., for helping us again making a child’s wish come true.
