Is it a miracle when two children wish for the exact same thing?

When the „same thing” means that both of them want to go to Disneyland Paris’s? It is not.
This is how it happened, that these two children found themselves on the plane to Paris, which took off at 6:30 am…

Both kids had their mothers with them for the big journey. Lili and her mother came from Kecskemét so they had to wake up really early to get to the airport in time. This was more difficult for Zsombi and his mother because Barcs is even more far away than Kecskemét. But thanks to the Airport Hotel's support, they could spend the night in a really nice hotel.

After the two hour flight we had to get on to a bus, then we arrived to our beautiful hotel. We spent the rest of the day in the Disneyland Park.

The first impression? A fantastic wonderland where you can meet face to face Snow White or even Frozen’s princess... But of course all this in a "smaller edition" an holding their parent’s hands.

The children from the Csodalámpa got impressed by the Park immediately. They couldn’t even decide which game they would like to try next. We tried almost everything in the 3 days we had including the „safer” roller coasters or haunted houses and some more frightening games like a 360-degree turn making roller coaster which just avoids meteorites. All of the games were themed by Disney movies. Of course besides the fun roller coasters, we had other fantastic experiences too. We traveled through Disneyland with a real Wild West styled steam-engine, we saw Sleeping Beauty’s palace, we flew on Alladin’s magic carpet, met and took a photo with „living” cartoon characters and we shooted the enemies with Buzz Lightyear’s laser gun.

We planned for the second night to watch the Disneyland Park’s final show which started at 11pm. It was a fantastic light show with fireworks. Sleeping Beauty’s palace turned into a large screen where cartoons showed us the never ending fight between bad and good…

We spent our last day in the neighboring Walt Disney Studios’s. Stepping out from the Studio No 1, the statue of Walt Disney welcommed us, who created all this for us.
There were a lot of things to try here too. For example we parachuted with the Toy Story’s commandos, we tried to escape from Ratatouille’s cook in 3D and in the size of a rat. We could see here a really interesting stunt show which was exciting and special not only because of the tricks (with cars, motors, and a burning stuntman) but because they told us some secrets about the tricks. But we keep these secrets for ourselves.

And how did the children enjoy the trip? The photos reveal this more than anything...

We would like to thank Mr. Dennis Diokno and the Euro Disney Associes S.C.A. for the support.

Dear Csodalampa Foundation,

I would like thank the Foundation and its supporters this journey.
I had a wonderful three days, I tried every attraction I could during this time. I liked most the roller-coasters, and the very best among them the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.
The other attractions were also funny, but I preferred the „extreme” ones.

This was my first flight on an airplane, I enjoyed every minute. The hotel we stayed in was splendid and the food there also.

You gave me and my mum a real experience of a lifetime, we felt ourselves like in a fairytale…

I am so grateful that you granted my wish!

Wishing you all the best form Barcs

Zsombor Alajos.

On a hot summer morning we had the opportunity to present a gift to a lovely little girl, making her wish come true.

From now on bringing comfort to Noemi, there is a little furniture, which has been conjured up by Csodalampa Foundation’s jinn.

Get better soon, little Noemi!

We thank the Magyar Nemzeti Bank for the support.

Mate is a 13 year old boy who is very much interested in computers similarly to many of his peers. He wished so much for a personal computer which he could use for so many things.

We were able to make his wish come true on the 24th of June with the help of one of our regular supporters Mr. Peter Gabriel who also brought along his daugther with him. We agreed to meet at the Clinique in Tuzolto Street where we handed over the giant box with the present to the surprised and very very happy Mate.

Mate thanked the present with a great simle and promised that after returning from his vacation he will boot the computer right away and send us some photos as well of the „magic machine”.

We would like to thank Mr. Peter Gabriel for making Mate’s dream also come true.

We had the opportunity to fulfil a very exciting and sporty wish in a good mood!

The 7 years old Gabriella asked for a wall climbing season-ticket combined with education from the Csodalámpa Foundation. Gabi tried wall climbing for the first time last year, and we can say that it was ’love for the first climb’. Because of her sickness, we had to wait with the fulfillment, but this way the joy was even greater.

On the day of the completion Gabi only knew that they are going to the wall climbing club. When the family walked in the door, a small enthusiastic group greeted them, and I can honestly say, that there was great excitement in them as well! Gabi listened to the TATA Consultancy Services’ employees like an adult, as they explained how they fought through the Ultrabalaton competition to gather micro donations, so that her wish can come true! Gabi thanked every runner for the gift with a grown-up like handshake, while she had a big smile on her face.

After the conversation, Gábor Tasi the leader of Spider Club invited the group for a little wall climbing, and we all said yes, but at the end only Gabi and Jorge Rosas equipped themselves with the harness assembly. Despite this, the ‘contest’ could begin!

Gabi was climbing so dynamically and incredibly well, that the leader of the Club –who was supporting the climb from the ground- expressed his respect seeing her performance! Jorge managed to complete the distance as well, so Gabi decided to ’challenge’ him to do the next section, which they’ve successfully covered!

We wish that Gabi will have the opportunity to participate in trainings through this one year period! We are waiting for the pictures to see what kind of challenges she could overcome...

We are grateful for the TATA Consultancy Services’ running team for putting the completion of Gabi’s wish on their agenda, and thank you for the Spider Club for their support and very flexible attitude!

Dorka was lying in her bed, closed in, like she is not present when I stepped in. She didn’t look at me, so she didn’t notce the huge box I was holding. When I greeted her and told, that I brought something she sat up immediately... and she knew it.
The laptop, she was so eager to get, finally arrived!
It is essential to her studies, especially since she became a private student. She wanted to finish the school and not lose a year. Keeping in touch with her friends is much easier too this way, of course.
The big girl opened the box, switched it on, named it, set up the password and then dived into the softwares.
Later, when I went back to the room she was still over the keyboard and was telling her loved ones at home how her wish came true.

We would like to thank the support of Lenovo Technology B.V.

Bianka is spending significant amount of time in hospital. Prior to her latest trip home, we have discussed what her wish would be from Csodalampa. Unfortuntately she had to return to the hospital shortly, therefore we had to present her gift which was a TV, at her bed.

Since her latest hospitalization she didn’t smile, didn’t talk and hardly eat or drink. But today, when she saw me and the big box in my hand – to everyone’s surprise – she said: ’TV!!!’

Since then, she started to consume her daily dose again, so the infusion is not necessary anymore. Seeing her big smile filled with happiness has been such a joyful moment, it also cheered up all the doctors and nurses working in our department.

We thank the jinn of Csodalampa for bringing smile to Bianka’s face again.

We thank Gábor Döry for participating in the K&H Marathon as a ’Magic Bug’ and together with his friends’ donations, Bianka’s dream could come true.

Dóri has been treated at PTE KK Children’s Hospital for a long time. When I told her about the Csodalámpa Foundation, I could see that at first she didn’t dare to ask for anything. Later however, when she saw that wishes were being fulfilled all around her, she also suggested that she would like a white laptop. Then she waited patiently.

The wish had been fulfilled at the best possible time. She was going through a particularly gloomy and unpleasant period of her treatment which we managed to cheer up with this present.
When she saw the box in my hands at first she didn’t think it was her present. And then it registered …

It felt great to participate in Dóri’s heartfelt joy.

Tündike is 14 years old and she’s been battling with her illness for a very long time. She’s been treated at Miskolc Children’s Hospital for many months now. When we talked about what she would like to ask from Csodalámpa, she considered for a while, and then asked for an LCD TV.

I entered her room just before she was about to start her next round of treatments, carrying with me a huge box containing an enormous LG LCD TV. The nurses were right behind me wanting to see her reaction.

Dear Tündike! The entire Csodalámpa team wishes lots of joy with your present and a swift recovery.

Have you ever seen children’s eyes sparkling with joy, haven’t you? Milan’s eyes surely were bright when he saw his present. Even his jaws dropped. He saw such a machine in the hospital it was one of his roommates’, and they played with it together. The game made him forget that he is in the hospital, and being treated. On the way home, he asked his Mother to buy one machine, because it’s good to play with. Isn’t this the situation where Csodalampa used to help?

Magic and helpful intentions fulfilled Milan’s wish...

Happy Children’s Day to you Milan!

Lilla’s wish was to visit the PortAventura amusement park near Barcelona and to swim in the see. The wish was granted thanks to the generousity and cooperation of our benefactors.

The journey was a great adventure for the little girl from the first moment to the last. Lilla was very good at finding her way around the amusement park with the map, and planned her time very wisely so she could try everything she wanted to. After a busy day at PortAventura we spent the evening sightseeing in Barcelona. The next day we dived into the waves of the Mediterranean See.

Kevin is in the 4th grade and he lives in a small village close to Budapest. He was thinking a lot about what he should ask from Csodalampa that can be really helpful for him. Finally, he decided to ask for a laptop as it is something his parents can’t afford to buy and it will be very helpful in his studies and to catch-up on classes he missed due to his illness.

As you can see on the photos, he was very happy that his wish came true. He promised he would use the laptop more for studying than playing.

Thanks for the support of the Morgan Stanley Foundation!

Eszter is a very determined 12 years old girl whose whish was a colorful laptop.

On her 12th birthday, we brought the awaited machine to her home.
Her parents tried to keep their feelings secret. After we arrived, Judit came in with Eszter’s favorite chocolate cake. At first, Eszter didn’t think that Csodalampa would fulfill her wish.
When she saw us, she exclaimed: purple laptop!

She began to set up the machine very skillfully. Meanwhile, she explained that it will be used for learning and playing in the hospital, where she spent a lot of time recently. So later on this will help to keep in touch with her family and friends.

The athmosphere of Barceloana fits Eszter’s personality perfectly. She is open-hearted, candid and has an increditbly happy soul. She absorbed the positive vibes of the busy and lively streets of Barcelona like a sponge. We visited the Sagrada Familia, the Park Güell, the Aquarium of Barcelona, and the scenes of the 1992 Olympics, to name a few. Here’s Eszter’s way of thanking us the memorable days:

The 10-year-old Dani is treated at GYEK in Miskolc. He spends most of his time in front of his laptop as he loves playing games on the internet. When I asked him what he would wish for from the Genie of Csodalampa he said he would like a laptop with the newest games on it without hesitation. A Gamer laptop was his dream!

Dani and his mother were very surprised when I entered his hospital ward with a box in my hands. Once he realised what’s in the box he immediately forgot how sick he felt just moments earlier. He was joyfully opening the present containing the laptop he dreamt about.

We turned it on immediately and Dani called his family right away to discuss which games to install. It was great to see how happy he was!

Thanks for the support of the Morgan Stanley Foundation!

Miklós told us about his trip to Rome:

The Italians were really likeable an not just because of their language and their funny gestures but because they are all nice and friendly.
Our accomondation was also very good and what I really liked was the big smorgasbord for breakfast. They served it on the roof of the hotel so we could see the whole city of Rome.
My favourite monument was the St. Peter's Basilica, especially the cupola part where we could go up and could have a look around. It was wonderful.
We really enjoyed the whole trip and it was a fantastic experience for me.

Zita’s thoughts about the fulfilment of her wish:

My wish was to visit Düsseldorf in Germany and to take part in the Japan Day. There were several reasons why I wished so. I am interested in the Japanese culture and art and I am also attracted by Germany. Thus, two of our dreams came true at the same time.

My adventure was begun with an early morning flight on Friday. After a quick breakfast at the airport, our plane took off. I was on the board with my brother and Ms. Éva Batári from the Magic Lamp Foundation. During the flight I took several photos of the beautiful clouds. In Düsseldorf we were accommodated at the Hilton Dusseldorf. The hotel was very nice and the room was really convenient. First we had a sightseeing tour. We had a delicious lunch in the Japanese quarter, then we went to a Japanese department store to buy some snacks, mostly candy, of course. The „Japan Day” was held next day. Lots of people attended, and many of them wore Japanese cartoon character’s cosplays. I also had a cosplay, I was an earl. But before I became an earl, we visited a car exhibition nearby. I really enjoyed walking in the town in cosplay. The atmosphere was very cozy and I also met celebrities which was an unexpected surprise. Fantastic fireworks were the perfect way to end the magical day.

Last day we visited the Benrath Castle where we took part in a tour called "Secret Routes". It was worth seeing! I had never seen a castle, with so many hidden paths and rooms. Interior and the furniture were wonderful. I am afraid this would be my favourite castle.

Thank you very much for this fantastic opportunity and experience.”

It is hard to summarize our weekend because so much things happened to us. Márk travelled from Rudolftelep to Madrid and he got richer with a lot of experiences. Shortly after the initial awe Márk got more and more excited and even the airplane and the hotel in Madrid gave him and his mother many novelty. They both flew for the first time, and they have never been abroad before.
The sightseeing, the stadium visiting and of course the Real Madrid-Valencia match itself enhanced the mood.

We were really looking forward to the Sunday’s match. We enjoyed as the Bernabeu stadium filled with people and then that the match finally started. We had a lot of exciting moments and in the end our team, the Real won by 3:2.
The chilly and rainy weather could not ruin our great time and although we arrived to Budapest wearily, I think these days were unforgettable for all of us.

We would like to thank the employees of Hilton Budapest City and Hilton Madrid Airport that they helped us to fulfil this wish by hosting Márk and his mother.

Thank the Maximize Budapest’s support!

And we would also like to thank Teschler Mónika, who is a volunteer of us and lives in Madrid, for the sightseeing tour!

With the help of a team of selfless and helpful students, the 11 years old Balázs’s wish could be fulfilled. Balázs with the wheelchair wanted a notebook to be able to stay in touch with his friends, family and with the outside world.
Because of the illness, it is difficult for Balázs to get to a lot of places, but with the computer, he can go for a virtual trip in Hungary or even further away in the whole world.

Balázs’s birthday was two days before the gift delivery so we could not miss out to bring a delicious cake to the celebrated. The cake was made by a volunteer from Újszilvás. Balázs didn’t know anything about our arrival so he welcomed us with some teenager confusion. During the gift handover he couldn’t really say anything because of the surprise charm, but his mother and sisters conveyed Balázs’s unspoken words and his happiness.

We wish much pleasure for the notebook and we hope we are receiving soon Balázs’s e-mail from his new computer, which he writes to the Magic Lamp Foundation…

We would like to thank The British International School's students for the support, this wish could not have been fulfilled without them.
