In mid November 2024 Mam Marzenie hosted the second meeting of the five „founding foundations” of the WishAlliance in Poznan.

Everyone arrived just in time to kick off the program with a delightful dinner, and naturally, we dove right into lively conversations about the wishes fulfilled since our last gathering and other fascinating topics.

The formal program began the next day, on the 12th, with an enlightening introduction to the working processes and operating environment of the Mam Marzenie foundation. We explored subjects of mutual interest, such as classificiation of wishes, practical limits to wish grantings, the structure of the volunteer network, the tax benefit system for donors, their homepage, and the 1.5% support system. This system allows individuals to direct 1.5% of their paid income tax to a civil organization or church of their choice. Given the similarities to a system in Hungary, we had a fantastic opportunity to compare the two and discuss effective campaigning methods too.

Klára from Zlata Rybka shared exciting news about other European foundations involved in wish-fulfilling that she had contacted. Remarkably, five such NGOs expressed interest in joining our WishAlliance!

The evening was truly special as we gained valuable insights into the "handling" of Mam’s volunteers. We were invited to their annual charity evening and national volunteers day, which was a heartwarming experience. We enjoyed an engaging show, even participating on stage to help fulfill a little girl's wish. The highlight was celebrating the longest-serving volunteers, who received commemorative awards for their selfless service, with enthusiastic applause from the audience.

As planned, our next meeting will be held in the enchanting city of Prague. We can't wait!
